The Just Think match was a huge success. The orange-speckled crowd showed that fans of both sides were embracing the cause and lending their support. We received some excellent publicity in the lead up to the match which continued into the days following.
A brief story written by two Step Back Think members featured in the AFL Record for Round 21 and the following Monday another Step Back Think member was interviewed for Triple J’s daily journalism segment, Hack.
This kind of exposure is exciting and encouraging for Step Back Think. Triple J’s far reaching airwaves have helped spread MB’s personal story – the catalyst for the formation of Step Back Think – and generated further awareness of our anti-violence campaign.
Since the Just Think match we’ve received loads of emails of support and inquiries from kids as young as 10 about the dangers of violence. This kind of support and interest is incredibly encouraging and lets us know we’re on the right path in our campaign to end street violence.
